#310521* (?/16) ⚐Flag <cyberik> ok so i,m running xubuntu 14.10 and was doing fine with official nvidia drivers
<cyberik> then by accident i clicked something to install bumblebee drivers
<cyberik> which totally fucked up my install, had to remove nvidia* before i could even get graphics at all again
<cyberik> and then reinstalled official nvidia drivers but now all i can do is set resolution to 640x480, and the drivers no longer get recognized by nvidia conf tool
<cyberik> running gtx750 btw
<cyberik> so if i understand correctly, this is the amateur channel responsible for the boobytrap driver packages?
<cyberik> any tips on removing ur malfunctioning drivers?
<cyberik> you really shouldn't release packages that break installations, you know. you guys give the community a bad reputation, if just clicking your nvidia package is enough to fuck up a perfectly fine installation, i can understand why people regard linux as something unstable and not fit for desktop use
<cyberik> anyway, looks like you are only helping to break stuff and not fix it, so ill reinstall
<cyberik> without crappy 'community drivers', this time
