#310756* (?/5) ⚐Flag <monojin> Does Brasero adding md5 checksums to the disc images make them unbootable?
<SonikkuAmerica> monojin: Nope.
<SonikkuAmerica> I burned a Windows 10 DVD with Brasero, it added the checksum, and it worked just fine.
<monojin> SonikkuAmerica: but just extracting and re-writing the opensuse dvd makes it unbootable so something must be going wrong
<SonikkuAmerica> monojin: Did you burn an openSUSE DVD earlier and come up with problems? Just burning it without manually extracting the ISO?
<monojin> SonikkuAmerica: I am testing in virtualbox
<SonikkuAmerica> monojin: So?
<ianorlyn> moonjin just use the iso file in virtualbox
<SonikkuAmerica> monojin: ^
<ianorlyn> why would you want to burn a disk when you can load an iso file
<SonikkuAmerica> Or, if one really hates himself, loads it into RAM with grml-rescueboot?
<monojin> What I want to do, specifically, is make it go into EFI boot mode automatically, because when I use it on my mac, I get the option of choosing isolinux or EFI, at which point the keyboard stops working and no usb device I've tried works either
<monojin> bodhi linux boots because it only has isolinux
<SonikkuAmerica> monojin: #suse might be able to help with that
<monojin> this is a general boot medium thing though
<monojin> I have been spamming up #opensuse gratuitously, but maybe the affable enterprise goons at #suse can help
<ianorlyn> isn't there a virtualbox channel as well
<Pici> #vbox
<SonikkuAmerica> And? Since it's openSUSE's job to make sure openSUSE's ISO images boot correctly on supported hardware, take it up with them.<SonikkuAmerica> monojin: #suse *is* the openSUSE channel.
<SonikkuAmerica> monojin: You've been getting forwarded there.
<SonikkuAmerica> Too bad the openSUSE project is filled with "affable enterprise goons" who apparently know zilch about anything other than their next salaried payment from Attachmate. </sarcasm>
(One second later...)
<monojin> it seems I was already in that channel
<SonikkuAmerica> DIDN'T YOU JUST HEAR ME SAY THAT?Comment: #ubuntu-offtopic on Freenode
